Making God's Love Real
In The Heart Of The Community
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are temporarily suspending all face-to-face activities at the church facility – including worship services.
where we will continue to gather virtually for worship and fellowship.
Batavia United Methodist Church is still serving our community after 180 years. We provide traditional and contemporary services. Explore your relationship with God in a relaxed, family-friendly environment where hope grows.

Sign up for Outdoor worship on 10/11!
We are planning an in-person outdoor service on October 11th, weather permitting! Due to COVID-19 regulations, we are limiting total attendance to 50 persons maximum, so we will require registration via EventBrite. Click below to register for the upcoming service.
Also, while we will certainly enjoy being physically present with one another for worship, there are important rules we must follow as part of our gathering. The following rules will be required as part of our ability to come together:
The gathering is limited to a maximum of 50 attendees, including pastors, staff and volunteers helping with the event.
Masks are required for the entire duration of the event – basically from the time you leave your vehicles until the time you return to your vehicles. In the state of Illinois, masks are required at all times in public places and they are one of the simplest ways to reduce transmission of the virus. We will have extra masks for those who don’t have one.
Social distancing is also required. We will have colored flags or poles marking areas where you can set up your chairs. These will be spaced to allow us to achieve 6 feet of distance between these “pods.” Participants, including children, are required to stay in their family “pod” for the duration of worship.
Please bring your own chairs, beverages, umbrellas and sanitizer.
The worship service will be about 30 minutes in length and there will be no congregational singing or congregationally spoken prayers or liturgies. (Aerosols are a primary means of transmission. Singing is especially risky because we both inhale more deeply and we project more aerosols when we sing.)
We ask that you greet one another with waves and hellos while maintaining social distancing. No hugs, fist bumps or elbow bumps (you’re closer than 6 feet to do any of those.) We also ask that as soon as worship ends, you make your way to your cars without prolonged socializing in the worship area to create the safest experience possible.
