No new posts   S.H.A.P.E. small group
You are uniquely designed, wired and "shaped" by God to do certain things. There are five factors God uses to equip us for our purpose in life. These five tools are Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experiences. Over the 8-week program series, along with your small group members, you will discover what it means to live your life for the glory of God and to unlock your God given potential. S.H.A.P.E. is about finding and fulfilling your unique purpose in life. Once you discover your unique S.H.A.P.E., you can apply it in ways that will bring confidence, freedom, clarity and significance to your life and the lives of others. Please go to http://www.bataviaumc.com/adults.html for more info

Living In Freedom Everyday
Thursdays at 7:00 pm Third floor Parlor A support group to help men who struggle with sexual broken-ness. More than a dozen men from the tri-cities area who are recovering from compulsive viewing of pornography, sinful choices, unholy relationships and a life of secrecy and shame, meet each week to lend support and encouragement to one another. All men who wish to embrace their faith and want to be free from their bondage and desire to live in sexual integrity are invited to join.
This group involves real relationships: open, transparent, and accountable connections with fellow strugglers. The group values confidentiality and maintains an absolute commitment to provide a safe atmosphere for complete honesty and complete acceptance, where members are embraced in an attitude of love and forgiveness with others who have common struggles. A workbook, which sets forth a step-by-step guide toward Christ-centered sexuality, helps group participants break their compulsive habits and move toward true sexual identity which is found in the freedom and grace that only Jesus can offer. The group meets each Thursday Evening at 7:00 p.m. in the third floor parlor. For further information regarding the group or to determine if it might be helpful for you or someone you know, contact Pastor Gary at (630) 272-5939 or gary@bataviaumc.com.

No new posts   PORT MINISTRIES BREAD TRUCK
Twice each month - Second Thursday and Fourth Tuesday.
The Batavia United Methodist Youth Group has been sponsoring the Bread Truck Mission for a couple of years now. Two youth and their volunteer leader, Jay Shump, travel to Chicago where they join with Port Ministries to deliver soup, hot cocoa, sack lunches, and loaves of bread to impoverished neighborhoods of Chicago. Mr. Shump provides the transportation to and from Chicago. They meet at the church at 4:15 and return a little after 9:00 p.m. More volunteers are needed for this mission. Any youth or adults are encouraged to participate. If you would like to join this vital ministry, please contact the church office (630-879-7060). It will be very helpful if you sign up just once this year and the experience will give you a new outlook on the plight of the homeless in our area.
