New Building & Children’s Playground Update
Nearly a year ago Batavia United Methodist Church secured a mortgage for the purchase of the Hubbard Office Interior Building just north of our small community building on Water Street. During this past year preliminary drawings have been completed for the renovation and facade improvement for both the Hubbard Building and Community Building.  Currently our project manager Mike Rossell is working through zoning issues with the city of Batavia which must be resolved before we move forward with the project.  As we await resolution regarding the future Wesley Activity Center, the Board of Trustees is moving ahead with the construction of a Children’s Play Area in the gravel lot located between the parking lot entrance and the Community Building.  The transformation of this area from an unsightly gravel and weed bed to a beautifully landscaped, enclosed, play area complete with tricycle track, play-set and children’s story telling corner will be a wonderful addition to our campus.  Funds for the renovation are coming from our Parents’ Day Out Ministry and limited Capital Funds.
