What style of worship do you offer?
Our Batavia campus offers a more traditional setting, with organ and choirs, with a contemporary flair. At Flowing Grace you’ll find a fully contemporary service with a Praise band and modern music.
Should I bring anything?
This is entirely up to you. There are no expectations, just come as you are. You are welcome to bring a smile to share, but if you can’t manage a smile, not to worry, we strive to be empathetic and caring.
How should I dress?
The congregation will greet you with open minds and open hearts regardless of your exterior appearance. We are a diverse group and you will blend in whether you prefer a suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt.
What about Sunday school?
Sunday school classes for all ages are offered at both worship sites. At Flowing Grace Sunday school is at 9:00 a.m.; classes are held in various classrooms; there will be someone at the door to direct you. At the Batavia campus, classes are held both at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Classrooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. A complete list of classes and a map is available at the Welcome table in the Fellowship Hall (inside the Water Street entrance). Details about Sunday school classes for adults
Are children welcome in worship?
Children are always welcome and encouraged to attend worship services.
Parents are also welcome to bring their children to the nursery during worship or Sunday school, where they may stay or leave the child in the caring hands of our Safe-Sanctuary trained staff.
What about weekday meetings and events?
Meetings at the Batavia campus are usually held in Fellowship Hall (Water Street entrance) or a third floor classroom. Flowing Grace will begin hosting weekday meetings and activities this fall.
Everyone is encouraged to join in wherever God is calling. On Sunday mornings we pass around clipboards with sign-up sheets for current opportunities. When you sign up you are not committing to join any group, you are simply showing your interest and will be contacted soon with all the details, at which time you can decide if this group or activity is suitable. It’s safe to sign up for anything and you’ll learn more about the church and meet more people the more you sign up!
Can I just call and ask my question in person?
Please do! 630-879-7060
We truly love hearing from you and will try to answer questions ranging from worship times to theology.
Some of our favorite questions are: I was raised in a different denomination, how is the United Methodist church different or the same? Is anyone studying the book of Hebrews? I’m going through a really difficult time, can anyone there help? I have some perfectly good items I can no longer use, any idea where I can donate them? My kids and teen-agers are getting stir crazy, do you have anything fun for them to join?
