This presentation by The Rev. Larry Hollon will equip congregations to:
Communicate their messages more effectively, using multi-sensory worship and technology,
Increase their visibility through new/social media
Lift up campaigns such as “Change the World”
Help congregations become more visible in their communities as they seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Safe Sanctuary—Required Training for Volunteers!
Safe Sanctuary Training Dates
Tuesday, February 7, 7:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall
Saturday, February 18, 9:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall
Sunday, February 19, Noon in Fellowship Hall
All those who work with children, youth or vulnerable adults  must attend an annual Safe Sanctuary certification training. The Safe Sanctuary process must be complete by March 1st. This includes all those who teach, lead or volunteer in any way with children, youth or vulnerable adults. Parent volunteers, classroom helpers, nursery staff, bus ministry team, Better Together leaders, music leaders, etc. Anyone who has not completed the Safe Sanctuary certification process by March 1st, will not be eligible to serve with children, youth or vulnerable adults.

10:30, Meet in the parlor.  “Three Simple Questions: Knowing the God of Love, Hope and Purpose,” by Rueben P. Job—Who is God, who am I, and who are we together?  How we answer these questions has a profound impact on what we believe, how we live, and how we relate to others.

Betwixt and Between
Sunday, February 19, 2:00 p.m.
We will attend a program at the library entitled “Violet Jessop, Titanic Survivor” The true story of a stewardess who survived the sinking of the RMS
Titanic and the sinking of the HMHS Britannic, the only person to survive both disasters. Hear Jessop’s vivid account of life aboard glamorous luxury liners and the disasters that ensued, as portrayed by actress Leslie Goddard. Following the program we will gather for pizza in Fellowship Hall.  All adults are invited to join us! RSVP to Corliss Weaver by February 12.

Friday Christian Yoga Prayer Group
Join us for Christian yoga and prayer! A group of men and women from the church and community meet in the Youth room on the third floor. We begin with a devotion, then we have a 40 minute yoga session provided by a certified Christian yoga instructor, and end with 20 minutes of prayer time in the sanctuary.
Session Three: February 17, 24 and March 9, 16 (6:30-7:45 am).

43rd Annual Batavia Brotherhood Banquet
Tuesday, February 21st at 6:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran, Batavia
All men are invited to this event featuring great food, music and guest speaker Brian Smith. A Houdini-like magician, Brian Smith once disappeared from a chained box in the Batavia Quarry and reappeared on shore with the crowd. Now a pastor at Valleybrook Community Church, he will discuss his journey of faith and community. Young men (8th grade and older) are also encouraged to attend. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling Mark Harrington (630-879-2761) or in Fellowship hall on most Sundays.

L.I.F.E.
(Living In Freedom Every Day)
L.I.F.E. Ministries is a support group for men, offering Christ-centered and relationally oriented meetings that incorporate spiritual Discipline, small group accountability and ongoing prayer and support for those who struggle with issues of sexual integrity.
L.I.F.E. group shows men how to replace unhealthy behaviors with healthy ones - namely by building honest relationships with other men in the context of a broader relationship with Christ. L.I.F.E. is a safe place for those relationships to begin.
Strict confidentiality is kept to protect all who attend. L.I.F.E. meets in the Parlor on the third floor, Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. For more information contact Pastor Gary. (630-272-5939)

December 7, 14 and 21, at 9:30 a.m. in the church parlor for this fun and informative class. You are welcome to attend any one, or all of the classes. Childcare will be provided by request.
