Gary Pierce Pastor Pierce grew up in a Methodist Family in Western Massachusetts and attended church with his family each and every Sunday. While away at college, Gary made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and soon felt God’s call to enter ministry. He attended Gordon Conwell Seminary and began serving as pastor of churches in the Advent Christian Denomination. He served in Maine, Massachusetts, Florida and Illinois. In 1986 he took a break from church ministry and accepted the position of Director of the Woodridge Wholistic Health Center, where he served as administrator and counselor for three years before again returning to parish ministry. Gary is a trained therapist, licensed in the State of Illinois. He belongs to a counseling practice of Christian Therapists and sees clients in Wheaton and Batavia on a limited basis. Gary is excited and grateful to be in ministry on at Batavia United Methodist Church. His real passion for ministry lies in bringing the compassion of Christ to others, helping them experience God’s Grace and forgiveness. Gary believes we have all been called to follow Christ and His ministry of reaching out and caring for others. When we are doing that, we are growing in the Image of Christ as Paul called us to do. In his spare time, Gary enjoys working on old boats and restoring them. Gary enjoys being with wife, Sally, and thier children and grandchildren. |
