LUNCH BUNCH
Looking to socialize after church on the second Sunday of the month?  Do you feel like you don’t know a lot of people at church but you’re not quite ready for a regular small group experience? Did you miss the Dinners for 8 opportunity?  Join us for LUNCH BUNCH.  This is a very easy way to meet people from Flowing Grace and Batavia campus, and enjoy a meal together. Most people will arrive between 11:30 and 12:00.  Just show up whenever you like and eat with each other. There is no agenda.  It is as easy as it gets. Join us for any or all of these gatherings:
July 11 – Four Beans in Batavia, on the corner of Wilson and Randall.  They have great sandwiches, soups and all their coffee is fairly traded.
August 8 – Pockets - 1330 Orchard Road Aurora 60506
September 12 – Panera— 154 W. Wilson St, Batavia 60510

COMMUNITY EDUCATION CONNECTION
What is Community Education Connection? CEC will make educational opportunities available to those in need through a partner organization. Initially this will focus on GED preparation as there is presently a gap in services being offered because of the state budget. Where is CEC going to be located? This is going to be a mobile program. We will have laptops and resources for teams to bring to the partner organizations. We will be serving organizations in the Fox Valley area. When will we start? Presently the goal is to be up and running by June 1, 2010 with our first partner. Once we have finalized the details we will share those with you. Why are we doing this? Offering an opportunity for individuals to receive GED test preparation and life skills training will allow them better access to employment and to successfully sustain a living-wage job. This accomplishment not only benefits the individual but the family and in the long term breaks the cycle of poverty. How can you be involved? We are presently looking for the following teams: prayer partners, teachers, translators, team leader (facilitator), and technology. Within each of these teams are various jobs. Some will be ongoing and others will be short term to launch the program. If you are interested please email us at cec@flowing-grace.org or call (630) 879-7060 and reference the CEC program.
