What to expect

What style of worship do you offer? 

Batavia United Methodist Church offers classic and nontraditional services in a relaxed, family friendly environment. Classic services feature traditional hymns by our Chancel Choir and Bell Choir. Our nontraditional services has more contemporary music performed by our Worship Band. The liturgy and sermon is the same in both services.  


Is nursery care provided?

Nursery care is available on Sunday mornings for children age infant through three years old. There is no cost to place your children in the nursery. 


How should I dress? 

Whether you prefer a suit and tie, polo shirt and khakis, or jeans and t-shirt, come as you are. 


What about Sunday school? 

There are Sunday school classes for all ages at 10:30am. 


Are children welcome in worship?

Children are always welcome and encouraged to attend worship services. However, parents are also welcome to bring their children to the nursery during worship or Sunday school, where they may leave the child in the care of our Safe-Sanctuary trained staff. 


What about weekday meetings, small groups, and events?

Meetings and small groups are usually held in Fellowship Hall or a third floor classroom. Please enter the church through our Water Street entrance during the week.
